Connecting entrepreneurs to mentors, money, and markets
Our work emerges out of the East County Community Navigator Pilot Program
We’ve launched this initiative with community partners to create and grow a business network that will stimulate entrepreneurship in East Multnomah County. This Pilot Program is powered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
Our focus is to reach and support underserved pre-entrepreneurs, and micro-businesses, with an emphasis on those owned by women, veterans, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. The goal of this 2-year program is to improve long-term, economic recovery and resilience for small businesses.
Our network of Community Navigators and Service Providers are serving together to help people navigate the journey as aspiring business owners or new entrepreneurs looking to take their business to the next level of growth.
Connect with our community navigators
Whether you are an aspiring business owner or currently running a micro-business in East Multnomah County, you can turn to these Community Navigation agencies, a.k.a. Spokes, who have deep ties in the community. They are your first step in connecting with this network by enrolling in this Pilot program.
Our network of care
As the Business Hub, the CDCO is building a network with a select group of Community Navigation agencies and Service Providers who are working together in launching and developing this exciting, new initiative. We are building bridges of connection for those who enroll in this business development program, so they will have access to training, support, and resources.
Pathway to business ownership
Our network was created to support underserved and underrepresented people as they explore the small business pathway. We are working together to create opportunities to access business training and mentorship programs, as well as capital and government programs that are earmarked for small business development.
This program is designed to reduce barriers in accessing critical support faced by all small businesses, in particular those owned by disadvantaged groups such as veterans, women, and those from rural communities and communities of color.
